February 2022 News!

We have had an extremely fast-paced start to 2022 and we can’t believe it is February already! Between moving into our new office and numerous design milestones, January went by in a flash.

This year started with a bang and seen us awarded a number of new projects including the remodelling of sheltered housing in Bo’ness for Falkirk Council, a number of residential developments including a multi-million pound home in Gourock and a Solar PV feasibility studies for a 7 existing nursing homes.

There are also a number of projects making the transition into 2022 with us, one of the most notable being the redevelopment and extension to Rattray Primary School in Blairgowrie. Our ongoing technical support and BIM model has helped Hadden and Perth & Kinross Council with the smooth delivery of what is going to be a great asset to the local community. In Falkirk, we have been working with a local property developer on a 6 unit residential development. This project has been extremely challenging due to the buildings ornate features and age, but we have worked with the architect and overcome challenges as they arise.  A bit closer to home, we continue to work on a new Passivhaus property in the Southside of Glasgow. The goal of this property is to have lots of natural light whilst minimising energy usage through low carbon technologies such as Solar PV, an air source heat pump and an MVHR system. South of the border, we are still working on the RIBA stage 3 design of a luxury residential development in London’s Brixton Area. This project is being delivered to BREEAM ‘excellent’ and also using a number of low carbon technologies including air source heat pumps, solar PV’s and MVHR systems.

To keep up with our ongoing workload and help us deliver an even better service for our customers, we have made a couple of new additions to the team. Our first new recruit of 2022 was Jordan who has joined us as an Assistant Building Services Engineer and has been a great addition to the team. Poppy has also joined the team in the last fortnight as a Digital Media Specialist. Poppy will oversee the development of our social media presence and also play a key role in organising our stand at UK construction week in London later this year.

Due to a number of projects on the horizon, we are on the lookout for an experienced mechanical building services engineer. As such, if you have experience in this industry and are looking to join a forward-thinking team, we would love to hear from you. If you are interested, please send your CV and cover letter to info@surveydesignconsult.co.uk.
